Polar Challenge to Conquer Cancer
Greysteel Senior Managing Director Doug Banerjee will compete in the 22nd Annual Polar Challenge to Conquer Cancer. This year's proceeds benefit the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The Polar Challenge to Conquer Cancer is now in its 22nd year. The events were started by the Captain of the Banerjee Dream Team, Neil Banerjee, in 1997 when his mother was diagnosed with colon cancer. Neil and 15 friends got together and donated what they could to the American Cancer Society, and while she passed away from the horrible disease in '99, the charity event continues to grow.
Since its inception, the Polar Challenge events have raised over $500,000 to help find a cure for cancer. The annual golf tournament attracts over 100 golfers from all over the country to play at Chapel Hill Country Club.
In 2019 and beyond our events will be transitioning our proceeds to provide a larger local impact at the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center!
Our individual team members have combined digital forces to create this awesome fundraising team. Together we will raise more money for UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center than we ever could alone!
