The HR Generalist position offers you the opportunity to interface directly with employees and brokers of the company being the initial point of contact on employee benefits, payroll, compliance, professional development training, This is a newly created position within the HR department, and you and your manager will partner to further shape the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment: Work with Director to draft and revise job descriptions and job ads, post jobs, review resumes, draft interview questions, schedule interviews, conduct phone screenings, participate in panel interviews, send regular updates to hiring managers, maintain candidate pool, attend pertinent job fairs.
  • Training & Development: Assist Sr. VP & Director on administration of professional development, on-boarding and compliance training.
  • Employee relations: Participate in disciplinary action meetings and investigations, coordinate employee survey process, answer routine policy and compliance questions, take notes and follow up on employee concerns.
  • Policy Creation / Administration: Work with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain company policies as needed. Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Compliance: Coordinate with all relevant government and third party entities to ensure compliance in all aspects (H&W, Annual 5500 Reporting, EEO Reporting, ACA, etc.)
  • Benefits: Answer routine questions about entire benefits suite, coordinate with brokers and
    carriers on enrollment and other issues, participate in annual open enrollment process.
  • Time & Attendance / Payroll: Work with Staff Accountant to manage regular rate of pay calculations, follow up with affected employees, review and update time cards as necessary, assist with payroll processing as necessary.
  • Administrative: Complete verification of employment, respond to subpoenas for records and other qualified document requests, update employee information in payroll system, complete new-hire and termination checklists, manage LOA documentation, take notes from employee meetings, create and maintain electronic notes.
Essential Qualifications
  • 3-7 years of direct HR experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR, Org Development, Management or Psychology required.
  • Certification: PHR / S-PHR or similar preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of State, Federal and Local laws and regulations
  • Self-starter with the ability to anticipate potential situations, resolutions and departmental needs.
  • Ability to deliver presentations and trainings.
  • Developed comfort interfacing with all levels of internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to use sound judgment to take action with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; exceptional attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%
